GIFT CARD

Cabcharge Gift Cards are magnetic stripe cards which are pre-loaded with dollar value. The card is debited each time a fare is processed. Passengers can check the card balance online or by SMS.

If a card has insufficient funds to pay for a fare or fails to process, the passenger can resort to an alternative payment method (for example cash, other Cabcharge products, bank issued cards) to cover the outstanding amount.

Please note that Cabcharge Gift Cards cannot be processed by manual emergency (green/pink) dockets as they must be processed through a Cabcharge terminal.

Swipe the Cabcharge Gift Card through the Cabcharge terminal.

Enter the fare amount and select ‘Savings’ as the account type.

Follow prompts on the terminal screen to complete the transaction. The terminal will indicate if a signature is required.

Passenger enters the PIN to process the transaction. When transaction is complete, print out the receipt and give the passenger a copy if requested.

Be mindful of split payments

Passengers often use split payments to use the remaining balance of a GIFT CARD or multiple GIFT CARDS. To ensure optimum Passenger experience, use the split payment function of your Cabcharge terminal.

If a customer does not know the balance of their GIFT CARD, please ask them to contact Cabcharge on 1300 739 889.
